Where did the past 10 months go?

Oh sweet Wren-bird. Has it only been 10 months since you burst into our lives? What a wonderful, fast 10 months these have been! It's been amazing watching this little person grow up from a sweet, sleeping newborn to the boisterous - dare I say it? - almost toddler we have on our hands. One of Wren's favourite things to do, is, when we say "How big is Wren?" she lifts her hands high over her head and we all say "SO BIG" to her sweet little giggles. Meggy can't get enough of it, and will ask "How big is Wren?" over and over and over. Luckily Wren loves having all the attention on her and will raise up her arms over and over and over.

Yup, she's almost a toddler. *sob* Little Miss Catherine has grown 4 teeth AND has two more on the way! (I discovered those two on her 10 month birthday, when I was wondering why the heck she was still so cranky) She's standing on her own for 2-3 seconds at a time, and she's babbling baby talk that sounds more and more like real words each day. She says Dadadada and Mamamama, and I'm not totally sure she's calling Thomas and myself, but I can't say for certain that she's not calling us. More often than not she's calling "Dadadada" when Thomas comes home, or is walking into the room, and she usually says "MamamamamamMAMA!" when she's upset about something and is looking for me.

We absolutely adore having Wren interact with us more and more, although Meggy is discovering the downside to having a sibling who can play with you, and your toys. I brought up the Princess Little People and castles for the two of them to play with, and while both girls are super excited about it, both kids get really frustrated when the other wants to play with what she has. Meggy is getting a fast lesson in sharing, even when you REALLY don't want to.

I was looking forward to being outside more this month, as Wren really enjoys the outdoors. However, the poor thing runs hot, and gets overheated very very easily, so we've stayed inside in this super hot indian summer we've been having. Hopefully it'll cool down soon, so we can take this baby outside where she's happy!

The other fun milestone Wren has had, is horrible, awful separation anxiety. Which is why I don't have a lot of picture of her this month. Anytime she goes to someone else (even Thomas for about 3 weeks) Wren cries and screams and tries to get to me. She's starting to get better, and is even happy to see Thomas come home now.

Looking so old, with her bored expression. Every day Meggy finds something about Wren to say "You're growin' up, so big! Just like me! You're going to be like you're big sister son! I'm so proud of you." Words to melt a Mama's heart.
