Where did September go?

... Don't ask me. Between dying from the heat, and dealing with a bunch of health issues from this pregnancy, September just seemed to slip from my calendar.

The number one thing to happen in September was Thomas' and my 5th anniversary! Thomas was studying his brains out all of July/August/September for his OB-GYN ultrasound certification, but we managed to take a few hours, just the two of us, to go up to Carter's Mountain and enjoy some cooler temperatures, apple cider and peach pie.

Miss Meggy has really come into her own this summer. We've definitely had some 3 year old issues, but for the most part, 3 has been an awesome age! Meggy is becoming very opinionated on everything - what she wears, the music to which she listens, and and music to which *I* sing, just to name a few. Also, what kind of ice cream she eats. Preferably white or pink (flavors can range from coconut to vanilla or raspberry to strawberry) with rainbow sprinkles on top.

This picture below comes from our worst 'Battle of the Wills' moment. I bought and built a bookshelf for Meggy's room, and she decided to take ALL the styrofoam packed in the box, tear it up, and fling it about the room. When we were both done, I asked her to please clean it up - she made the mess, she could clean it up.

Well.

I think all in all it took about three hours for her to pick up every last piece of styrofoam. It took a lot of perseverance (from me) and tears (from Meggy) but we did it! The walls of Meggy's room are still only halfway painted, but HOPEFULLY her room will be picture-ready by the time the baby is born.

Trader Joe's. They have the best food, for the best prices, and the best stickers.

Family date night! Meggy was in rare form this night, as silly and goofy as possible. I love her SO much!

The lady in the window reflection was nice enough to take a picture of the three of us, which is an even more rare combination than a picture of me with Meggy.

This little girl has been quite the trooper with all the doctor appointments to which she's been dragged. She's got her trusty backpack full of books, pencils, and stuffed animals to keep her company.

Both kitties seem to be on baby alert. Knightly has been very affectionate with me (NOT the norm, as he is definitely Thomas's cat) and I woke up from a nap one day to see that Darcy had moved from his favourite chair, to my bump. The baby stayed still so long as Darcy kept purring.

Our new entryway mirror! We are V E R Y slowwwwly making this house a home, and adding touches like wall decorations, and such. Thomas has been so sweet - I've been slowly collecting articles, then dumping them in the Dining room, which at the moment is not so much a room, as a dumping ground. Thomas takes one or two items out per weekend, and helps me put them up.

One Saturday, before heading out on family errands:
Thomas: "Ok Meggy! Mommy and I have gotten ready to go and we both went potty. Have YOU gone potty, so you're ready to go?
Meggy: "Um yes. Yes, I did.
Thomas: "You did? When exactly did you go potty?"
Meggy. "...Saturday."

One last beach day! It was cloudy and windy, but Meggy was delighted to be at the beach. We need to have more beach days next year.

The latest addition to the Richardson family - Sir Percy! He's the cutest little kitten, and Meggy is completely smitten with him.

"Come on Percy, let's take a picture together!"

That's part one of our September pictures. The beginning of September was a rough one with me, I'll make sure to open up some more in my next post. Of course, Meggy is adorable always!
