A fun fall day
Yesterday we went to the local Mennonite market to get supplies for our upcoming Halloween party. They're about 15 minutes up the road from us, and also have a little farm petting zoo and play area, so Meggy and I enjoyed the nice weather and fun animals for a while! The big attraction are always the goats, but when we got there, the goats were hiding somewhere. We did see a litter of pot-bellied piglets though! They were so adorable, but I didn't get any pictures. :( They also have a lot of different kinds of birds, everything from English geese to peacocks to quails and chickens! The rooster scared Meggy a little bit (he was pretty darn loud) but she was pretty brave, and still managed to toss some food into his little pen.
After tossing some food to the birds, Meggy went to play on the playsets. She did really well at the different climbing structures, but for some reason is super scared to go on the slide. She loves this little treehouse - and asked when I could build her one at our house.
Keep dreamin' kid.
They recently put up this little mural - doesn't Meggy look adorable as a piggy and a goat?
She can't quite reach the people yet, but she certainly tried - you can't tell, but she's on her tippiest toes in this pictures!
After playing for a little bit, we saw that the goats had come out! Meggy had been very excited to feed the goats, but I think she had forgotten how aggressive they are! There's this one mama goat (pictured below) who shoves all the other goats out of the way. The baby goats didn't even want to come over to us once this pushy lady made her way to the front.
Swinging on the big kid swings! She's getting better at pumping up and down, but still can't get on the swing herself, haha.
Between this little girl and her daddy, they paid TONS of attention to detail. I decided that for Christmas, I'm going to need a gingerbread house of my own - it took these two almost two hours to decorate this one! I'll post a picture of the finished product when I post about the party.
"No Daddy, not the scary bats!"
