Four Months Old!
Where has the time flown?! It doesn't seem like it can be the end of August already; but school is starting, the air is getting weirder, and my baby has started teething. Hold on to your horses folks.
Firstly, this teething business stinks. Margaret is fussy 80% of the day, she doesn't want to eat, she refuses to sleep, and only likes it when I hold her and walk. Both Thomas and I collapse into bed at the end of the day with aching backs and ears. :) I'm looking into getting Margaret a Baltic amber teething necklace, which is supposed to help with the pain of teething. They're a little on the pricy end though, so we'll see.
The other 20% of the time, Margaret is of course, adorable. I can't get her to sit still to read a book, but she loves it when Thomas and I sing to her. She just learned how to purse her lips, and her newest thing is to make "oooh, oooh" noises when we're singing. She has the sweetest little giggle that I love to coax out of her. No full belly laughs yet, but I'm sure the first one will come when Thomas is playing with her. He takes her off my hands when he comes home from work, and they play while I make dinner. I'll hear him making the weirdest noises, and think it must be scaring her... but when I come into the living room, Meggy is watching him with a big grin on her face! She loves her daddy so much! It's always fun to see her delight when Thomas is home on the weekends. She's used to Mama time in the mornings, and she gets so confused when Thomas gets her out of the crib! Margaret is definitely a morning person (and I most definitely am not) and she loves playing with her daddy as soon as she wakes up.
Margaret loves to stand up. It is probably one of her most favourite things to do. When we play with her, she'll grab both hands, and stiffen out her body so we can pull her up. While standing, she usually tries to chomp down on our fingers. She enjoys it. We get slobbered upon.
Meggy's other favourite thing is splashing in her tub! She has a baby tub in which she can recline. She wasn't too sure about it at first, but now she usually splashes out half the water before I even start washing her! I hope she continues this love of water - I have my eye out on wading pools for next summer.
That's pretty much all the new stuff. Margaret has outgrown all her 3 month sized clothing. She's still long enough to fit into them, but her arm, leg and tummy chub have proven to be too much. She is now wearing 3-6 month clothing, which come down to her mid-thighs, but doesn't squeeze those chubby little arms. :)
She's four months! Gah! I can't believe that you have a four month old! Teething is the worst... teething tablets. And frozen celery. And ear plugs. Good luck!
