Spring 2019 Disney trip - Epcot

Have I mentioned how much Thomas and I love Epcot? We love Epcot, we really really do. And now our daughter's favourite rides are in Epcot, and honestly I'm just as proud of that as anything else I have accomplished in motherhood.

We started off our Epcot morning discovering that the ride Spaceship Earth (the big Epcot ball) was broken down, so we went to Nemo, and stood in line for the ride. Wren was utterly enchanted from the sand in the waiting queue, to the real fish (we had a shark AND a sting ray glide by!) at the end of the ride. After we got off, we found the Aunties, and everyone else had arrived at the park!!

We split up for a while - Grammy, Saba and Beema went to do some old people-y things, while Thomas, Rebecca and Meggy went off to ride test track. Rachel, Wren and I went to try some soda, and walked around for a bit. It was pretty hot this day and Wren wasn't very happy about that.

Wren also wasn't thrilled with the Japanese carrot soda
We did get to go on the boat ride in Mexico which was fun until Wren saw me trying to get a picture.

"Stop it with the camera now Mom."
One of the fun parts of Test Track is that you get to 'design; your own car, which you then get to test against everyone else in your car. Meggy's car won this ride!

Next up is my favourite ride called Living with the Land. Its basically a boat ride through Disney greenhouses where they show the innovative techniques Disney horticulturalist have come up with to grow crops. Mom and I went on the Behind the Seeds tour a few years ago, which was so interesting! I really enjoyed getting a behind the scenes look at the ways they grow all different kinds of plants, and fish!

Because we were here during the Flower and Garden festival, the greenhouses were looking especially colorful with all their editable flowers.

A pretty garden in the Canada pavillion
Took some time to get a picture of me and just me!

It was around this time we realized that Thomas had accidentally left the stroller on the other side of the park, so I hiked over and around and met up with the girls, Thomas and Rachel in Canada.  It was really hot this day, but the April winds kept it from being too miserable. They also brought in the pollen that wreaked havoc on the girls allergies, but nothing is perfect.

Thomas assured me he was just "Giving the backpack a hug."

We started walking around the 'world' to see some princesses, but first we had to stop and see the Winnie the Pooh topiary.

Meggy's favourite princess is Sleeping Beauty, aka Princess Aurora. Meggy has been waiting for months to see her, so we booked it over to the France pavilion to meet Sleeping Beauty, and she did not disappoint. She noticed that Meggy was wearing a Sleeping Beauty dress, and they all twirled in their princess dresses.

Wren held Meggy's hand the entire time

Meggy's dream is to go to France one day, so we just had to get a picture of this little sweetheart in front of Epcot's France!

Getting a snack in Morocco

After Moana - who sadly is only found in Hawaii - Belle is Wren's favourite princess. She was a bit awestruck by Belle, who asked how old the girls were, then helped Wren make a 2 with her fingers. For some reason Wren was very nervous around the 'face' characters. She clung to Meggy the entire time they met with the Princesses, which Meggy was very gracious about. Meggy on the other hand, was delighted with every single character interaction.

After a little snack, we wrestled Wren into the baby carrier, where she screamed for 30 seconds and promptly fell asleep. We kept walking around, and got this sweet and wonderful family picture.

After a successful transfer from the carrier to the stroller in Africa, we kept up with Thomas's festival booth eating schedule. There were SO many things to eat, from pastas to slushes and cakes and burgers and fried green tomatoes. It was all soo good, and I was glad Thomas got lots of things, because I was able to get a bite of everything I wanted too!

We had an early morning the next day, so we left the park at sunset. It was such a fun day, and I am so glad that we were able to have such a fun time with our family! Maybe we'll be able to see fireworks someday.
