16 Month old Wren
Little Miss Wrenny-bird is still the light of our lives over here. She sweet and funny and the best baby anyone of us could ask for!
Although I suppose we really need to stop calling her "baby", because she's definitely a toddler now! A teensy one (She only weighs 20lbs and is in the 25th percentile) but she's got a toddler's determination and stubbornness.
Wren eats almost everything we eat, although she still nurses about 3 times a day. She loves cheese and applesauce and wojuld willingly eat only that for all meals if she could. Although she also loves a good milkshake - as shown above. She drank about half mine, and I'm pretty sure she thought she was sharing with me.
Wren loves exploring her world. One of her newest words is "car" and she gets very excited when it's time to put on her shoes and go out and do something. She also liked to try new things. For instance, the other day Wren brought me a bottle of nail polish she had found, and kept trying to get me to open it. I funally did what she wanted, and showed her how it goes on her nails. She sat still almost the ENTIRE time, because she was facinated by her nails changing color. After they dried, she and I played on my bed, every once in a while stopping so she could admire her newly-pink nails.
One of Wren's funniest obsessions is with sitting down. She gets so excited to find a chair (especially one her size) and sit her little tush down in it. She also gets excited about big chairs, and will beg one of us to help her get into it. Ikea was fun for that.
Wren has her own ideas about things. When walking about she really doesn't like to hold hands, as it cramps her style. She rarely holds hands with growups, opting instead to hold her sister's hand, because Meggy is much more likely to go where WREN wants to go.
Another episode of "Wren Sits." She's such a cutie pants.
It was warm for a few days in February, so Meggy and Wren both got their wheels out. Meggy did great on her bike, and Wren got the bug crawler. She's still not too sure how to ride it, but I'm pretty sure that when Spring really gets here, she'll ride like a champ.
As I said, this little girl brings so much joy inot our lives with that little grin of hers. She's just the very bestest! Even after hiding cars from me, and falling on top of her sister and everything.
In typical little sister attitude, Wren gets upset when she sees Meggy getting something she does not. This day we had a little bit of snow in the morning, and so she got hot chocolate when she came inside. Wren stared at her the entire time, and tried to grab for it once. Wren already understands that sometimes things are just not fair for the second kid!
Alternately, I've told Wren that she's already getting to do cooler things than her sister did at that age. But she doesn't care. She just looks cute until i give into her cuteness.
