Thanksgiving 2014
This year's thanksgiving was a quiet one. About 8:30 we headed up to Mom and Dad's, so we could continue the tradition of watching the Macy's Day parade. We were greeted at 9:00 at the door by Rachel saying "I think I just missed the ONE performance I wanted to see today!"
As we settled in with our freshly made pumpkin bread (thanks Mommy!) and pumpkin cream cheese (thanks Trader Joe's!) Meggy watched the parade for the first time. She thought it was awesome - waving at the people on the floats, and then pointing out the balloons to us. It's so fun to see everything for the first time though her eyes!
Poor Thomas was on call for work, and had to leave fairly early in the morning. He came home twice... Just to turn around again and head out no more than 5 minutes later! We missed him a lot, and are hoping he doesn't have to work next thanksgiving. As it was, we had a lot of fun with just the girls (Daddy was out jogging, I think) until Hayes came over. We watched Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving, Miracle on 34th St, before dinner, and A Muppet's Christmas Carol during dessert.
Thomas came back for the last time right as we were starting dinner, woohoo! Mommy made so many yummy things, everything was absolutely delicious. Meggy especially liked the rice, and GG's jello pudding. She was finished early (since that's pretty much all she ate) and the rest of us stuffed ourselves while Meggy terrorized the cats and Rosie.
After many yummy pies - including Shoo Fly pie that I had specifically asked for - Thomas, Meggy and I rolled ourselves out to our car. Thankfully Meggy did not fall asleep on the way home, and we three had a fun time getting her into bed.
Here's a video we took of Meggy putting olives on her fingers for the first time. She thought it was such a fun thing to do, and made me put olives on her fingers all night. As you can see in this video, she was veeeery wary of anyone who tried to touch her olives.
